JDN: The Euro is here

Not in physical form, yet, but that will come in 2 years.
As far the benefits, it depends on how the "currency" performs, I haven't checked it today and am unlikely to.

It will stop currency fluctuation problems between certain European countries, I seem to remember big difficulties about 5 to 6 years ago when the currency market when absolutely berserk and some currencies dropped up to 10% of their previous value in a matter of weeks.

Its impact on the company (Ericy) I can not be so sure. It's a case of wait and see first, although accountancy procedures should speed up a little and country comparisons should be easier.

Notes: The UK is not part of the Euro and that the UK is one of Ericsson's larger markets. The other major (and minor) currencies still exist, but they have a fixed rate to the Euro (decided recently).

Sorry that I couldn't be more informative, but for pricing purposes it may well be up to the regional office/sales team to dictate the price. Can not see that they would "harmonize" prices to the highest or lowest prices before the Euro (pretty sure that there was little difference between the markets anyway and so is not really a factor now).
