IMO, we will have some continuing tension surrounding ERP companies such as PSFT and SAP for a while. Possibly for a good part of 1999 as the article says as companies are delaying purchases of ERP software to concentrate on the y2k bug. Perhaps PSFT and SAP may have tough Q1 and Q299 which may translate to a lower stock price until July/August 1999, and then when the spending on ERP picks up, with pent up demand behind it, SAP and PSFT should benefit. I am long PSFT in the mid 30's and may wait to see lower prices before I average down, but I do plan to buy more in 1999 even if prices remain around 18-19. Once y2k is behind us, these prices will seem like a steal. JMO.
