Tom, The value of the public companies is easy. John Amopp tracks this value weekly on the SFE thread. On 12/31/98 the N.A.V. of the public companies was $20.59. The value of the private companies is much harder. One analyst estimated this at $10 early last year. They have made many investments since then. Also, the value of their internet investments have increased a great deal. I have no intelligent guess. Their website has much information. www.safeguard.com.
