There is a good article in Information Week, dec 7 issue, that debunks several of the myths of ecommerce. One is the low barrier to entry. Everyone thinks it cheap and easy to start an ecommerce company. They interview several IT officers who are setting up system. Basically it is alot more difficult and expensive to set up a good system than most believe.
