Initial exploration before any drilling at Piernia had very high surface grades in pits. In addition, the alteration was typical high sulphidation style i.e vuggy silica and alunite. Surface samples from this vuggy silica zone averaged 6.4 grams Au/tonne. The first drill hole averaged over 8 grams over 77 meters. I been at Piernia and my heart did stop.
