The choice before the Republican Party is to either get pulled down by the weighty fringe fanatics or to abandon the nuts and reach out to the majority of Americans, who are essentially at the center.

My bet is that the party doesn't have the guts to do the latter and will instead find it comfortable to stay with the ever-increasing dead-weight of the extreme right-wingers and get drowned!
