CatLady,

I tried this a while back with BioComp Profit. It uses a GA to select inputs and I fed it a simple oscillator that I made in Excel. The oscillator would range from a 1 when the moon was full to a -1 when a new moon. It looked like a sine wave except it coincided with the phase of the moon.

Anyway, Profit snubbed its nose at it, dismissing it as less useful than my other technical inputs. That was for the S&P 500 however. I think various markets have different degrees of correlation.

There are a number of TASC articles (June 97 is one I think) that deal with trading off the phases of the moon. The Delta Theory is based on this too I think.

I guess I just never wanted to admit that I tried this for fear of being called 'out there'... ;)
