IdiotJed, your comments echo my own beliefs when you say that the investor is the "judge" and "all you've got is yourself" when I mentioned that a person must invest for their own reasons or not at all. I think I also said before that I like Waldo's input to the discussion overall, and I do agree that commentary about "who is buying what and how much" is out of line as it tends to mislead and provide a false sense of security to the less experienced investor in SI. So we agree on these points. But your suggestion that stock prices cannot be manipulated by these threads is way of the mark as a lot of junior investors lurk around here for some good and not so good stock tips out there. I know this for a fact because many friends of mine in their earlier investing years fell into the same trap only to lose their shirt after it was all said and done.
