Croc, Popped open the bookmark file a while back, and saw 4 new posts on this thread. Thought for a moment that a whole swarm of hikers and paddlers had descended. So it goes. I should have asked for an update on river conditions on Mars. An idly curious question, which needn't be answered: how did anyone as northern as you (and anyone who thinks of Nova Scotia as a warmer climate has got to be northern) choose such a thoroughly tropical alias? I actually saw one of your namesakes in the native habitat a few years back. Wasn't paddling at the time, which, in a departure from the norm, didn't bother me. I would much rather burn apple wood (or guava, much favored in the mountains here for warmth and for barbecue flavor) than paddle with crocodiles. The ones with four legs and a tail, at least. I'm all for wildlife, but enough is enough. Steve
