RE: Playstation emulator
I think this will help the game issue a little, but it's far from a solution. The problem is that these are Playstation games. As a "gamer," I bought a PC specifically so I could play PC-quality games, not 32-bit console games. For the non-gamers out there, the difference in quality between Playstation and PC games is huge.
Also, at $50, that's already half the price of a Playstation console (which I can hook up to my TV and stereo system), which also serves as a CD player, and more importantly, comes with game controllers (can you imagine playing any of those games with a keyboard? blech.)
Not to say it's not a good thing for Apple. It is. I just don't think it's going to be that huge of a product and I don't think it's going to win over anyone who buys a PC mostly for games. Those people (like myself) want to play things like Half-life, Quake 2, etc. when they come out, instead of having to wait a year for the port. Being able to play PSX games is no substitute.
I think convincing developers to develop for both Windows and Mac platforms (the way Bungie did with Myth and now Myth II) is the only way to solve the problem.
