* * * AOL 99: KING OR PAUPER? POLL update; 1/31/99 180; 1/1/00 339 * * *

The AOL poll continues to see estimates by threaders to dip ever so slightly.

While internet gorillas like Amazon.com and Yahoo jumped nicely Monday, AOL lost more than six points to 148 13/16. Will AOL continue to drop? Or is the buying about to commence?

Among 18 who were polled for the first time Monday, Greener could be the most bullish. He sees greener pastures, pardon the pun, ahead for shareholders.

I predict wealth and good times for AOL shareholders who are patient.
178 for 1/31/99
a 2:1 split and then
145 for 1/1/00
I also see a split a year for the next 5 to 7 years.

bobm3 turned in the highest short-term (Jan. 31) guess at 213. Sowbug has a Jan. 1, 2000 prediction of 513 to top the newly polled.

On the flip side, Waldo Rood has a prognostication of 125 for Jan. 31, and Bruce Si sees an anemic 120 for year's end.

Interested prognosticators can send me their guesses for the next poll update. Those who want to change their predictions are welcome to do so, as well.
