continued OFF TOPIC wsj article
I saw that article this morning...could not resist firing off a note to the editor. Here is what I wrote...I should have left out the trebling (tripling) part out, I probably just jinked myself for the year with that. Would be cool if I got in the paper--I don't think I've ever gotten a letter to the editor published. I probably pushed it with "whilst" and "noble" but I wanted to sound more educated, ha ha.
Maybe wsj could interview me like they did Joe Park, that'd be neat!
Mike...what are your favorite stocks? ...uh biotech, I never trade internuts because I don't want to get rich...
Do you worry that trading stocks is like gambling? ...uh, no. Level II is nothing like going to longacres. Well, they closed longacres, so I really cant remember if they are the same. could be.
What beer do you like Mr. McFarland? ...uh, we have many microbrews here in Seattle, but I prefer Rainier because I am frugal. Mickys (green death) is refreshing. I am a very cool Seattlelite. Live in the suburbs, wear a Boeing jacket.
...with all that time online, do you get a chance to watch the business shows--any comments for the gurus on cnbc? ...uh mainly I just watch South Park.
or pehaps a more British persona, hope my grammer is okay...

I very much enjoyed your cover story on the biotech investor who wont give up. There are many of us who have been watching the behavior of the internet stocks --whilst scratching our heads over the pitiable performance of small and micro-cap biotechnology. Nobody can say when the tide will finally turn, but for now maybe there is good beach combing? As a generation-Xer, I suppose that I have time on my side. With regards to the fellow in the article...I would also say that it is prudent to occasionally take a gain...and limit losses. Perhaps that is why your biotech investor has suffered so? After trebling my portfolio balance in the last year playing this game perhaps I have become too hopeful for the sector. For sure I have probably only been lucky. The risk with biotechnology stocks is large, but the goals of these companies sound noble, and the rewards can be great.
Keep up the good work covering biotech, I may have to renew my subscription!
(actually I am NOT renewing my subscription becuase I don't think they pumped Ariad enough on Monday... those Bastards! They...)
Okay market is open, I am turning off PC and hitting the ski hill. A cold Rainier in my pocket to ease the pain of impacts with the icy slopes!
