Paul, I have no gateway products. We all know that AMD lacks absolute superiority in speed, but what made them gain last year was a better speed per buck. Whether or not AMD will keep gaining is debatable as the new celrons are fast. Will they parasitise Intel sales as well....yes I think they will.
Once the 370 socket is out then Intel will not be able to clean up the low end as long as they cling to the slow and locked speed system. With AMD having faster side busses they will be able to stay ahead. When Intel gives the celeron a faster side bus it will eat P-II sales. Scylla and Charybdis as they say.
These announcements by marketing partners are just ad offsets since they dropped out of the sky on the same day it was obvious.

So a brief flurry of success and then sales will not go up as hoped and prices will be cut and then the liquidators will be selling vegetables.
