Dear John : i.e. stumbling blocks..

There is the old cliche that the love of money is the root of all evil, however I tend to follow the belief that mankind's belief that somehow we will create our own holiness by works or deeds or the willingness to be good, or the desire to be good; is itself holiness, is the main stumbling block. Just as the Jews of the OT thought adherance to the law was the source of holiness. Is it so much more wonder that Christians of today still adhere to the law, in whole (some) and in part (most)and wonder why God has thwarted their efforts to be effective witnesses in His kingdom.(when the truth is God desirers they not turn sinners further away from Him )

They will quote the verse about every dot and tittle of the law will be fulfilled in Christ,( my ) meaning that Christ fulfilled it for us because we in a billion years never could or the verses in James where he states that our justification for love is works; but they fail to realize that works without love is a lot more dead than no works of any kind to begin with. If you have works without love you are a lot better off being an outright sinner. At least then a person can realize the distance he is from God and have hope to someday walk in the light.

I've told sinners , that I have by the way won to the Lord, that they are in the very worst situation they could imagine. They say, what do you mean ?. My ans. I tell them you are trying to be good but are miserable because of your constant failure to live a victorious life. And yet you will not give your life to the Lord. I tell them they would be a lot better off being the worst possible sinner possible because at least they would have a 'little' fun because even the bible says that, while short, even sin has it's season and is fun for awhile;;;;;then disaster !!!!!! But the point is they are headed for disaster anyway.
