Michael, don't assume from Andrew Grove's comments that all of Europe is in the dark ages with respect to the internet and e-mail. FYI, Companies in Scandinavia are just as connected as U.S. businesses are regarding e-mail and the internet. I've been there twice and visited companies there.
Another thought: Finland is actually ahead of the U.S. (yes, it's shocking, I know) in cellular phone technology. The cellular phones there can play popular tunes for the ring, (you can choose between several), and the billing options are better, with different rates for business days, nights, and week-ends, sort of like how the long-distance companies do it. You pick the plan the best suits your use. They don't use check-books in Finland, either, and haven't for about 10 years. It's all electronic commerce and debit-cards.
