(Dow Jones)--Intelligent Electronics Inc.'s (INEL) board has been exploring strategic alternatives, including the possible sale of all or a portion of XLConnect Solutions Inc. (XLCT) stock or the distribution of such stock to Intelligent Electronics shareholders, the sale of divisions, and various mergers or acquisitions. In a press release Friday, Intelligent Electronics said it has hired financial advisers. The company said its board believes there is a ''significant gap'' between Intelligent Electronics' current market valuation and its inherent value.
