RESEARCH ALERT - SoundView ups chip equipment cos NEW YORK, Jan 5 (Reuters) - SoundView Technology said Tuesday its semiconductor capital equipment analyst Michael O'Brien raised his ratings on three companies. Raised KLA-Tencor <KLAC.O> to strong buy from hold and raised earnings estimates to $0.12 a share from $0.08 for the current quarter, to $0.61 from $0.43 for fiscal 1999 and to $1.52 from $1.26 for fiscal 2000. Long-term price target range is $55-$60. Raised Lam Research Corp <LRCX.O> to buy from hold. Current quarter earnings estimate kept at a loss of $0.91 a share. Established a long-term price target of $27. Raised Teradyne Inc <TER.N> to strong buy from buy. Kept earnings estimates unchanged at $1.39 for fiscal 1998 and $1.60 for fiscal 1999.
