DB: That kind of trading gives me a headache just reading about it. I have neither the temperament nor the equipment to hit the marks quickly, which is why, when I play the nuts, I play in my own little sandbox. Sometimes it takes awhile before anyone notices, but when they do, which is more often than not, I am less befuddled than I might be. Out of NETS, by the way, at 15. Into VRIO (a small hold) and PAIR (also a small hold, but probably longer than VRIO, which is taking on debt hand over fist.)
On a related matter, SAP, a stock I;ve held off and on for several years, warned today and will miss its numbers for this Q; also reported that next year should see mucho slower growth, in the 20-25% area. (For a fast grower like SAP, that sucks, not to put too fine a point on it.)
The reason I bring this up is that management cited an unexpectedly sharp fall off in Japan as the main problem. This does not bode well at all for multinationals in tech sector and I would proceed with caution. (I have a substantial long-term stake in SAP and I have no intention of selling, though the price could easily halve under pressure of Y2K worries and economic slowdown in 1999.)
So it goes, 5 days into the New Year. Cheers, M2
