Frederick,

Vodafone/Airtouch combination is for sure better
for international operations. Either combination
could easily be a 200 Billion dollar company within
two years. But if it's Vodafone that takes Airtouch,
you're still missing a vital element and that's a
national footprint. This means they still have to
pay high roaming fees to other carriers (dual-mode
phones w/o direct connect). Don't listen to them
when they say they only care about international
properties, though. They want a U.S. footprint.
