Hi everyone:

"Many such deals are done so the buyers than use their shares for shorting the stock down as far as possible."

Since the buyers of the 'pp' are already holding the shares, by 'shorting', you must mean that they are selling their own shares later when the price goes higher and then buy back again at a lower price so they will still be holding shares in PNL at the end. If they are NOT shorting, they will simply just sell their shares at a higher price.

Be careful.

Totally agreed. The new addition to the float, even when it is not being dumped directly at the market, can become an additional weight that slow down the price rise even in the face of good news. However, to look at it from the positive side, I prefer a steady price rise over a long period of time than a quick run up and crash down afterward. We will see in due time whether the 'pp' investors are long-term thinkers or short-term players.

Thank for the post, R. Bond.
