If AOL:
1. actually has authority over "1.8 billion shares"
2. does not have that amount but gains shareholder approval anyway and
3. executes a 3:1 split this month

Can anyone recall another company that did two splits in the space of less than four months?

I have my doubts about the rumor, especially when the info comes from a newsletter. I would like to see AOL appreciate at a consistent speed and not get jerked around by rumors, which benefit only daytraders and short-termers.

However, I am curious. :-)
