******TO ALL*********ANSWERS TO REW*********** >>Sorry to go back on topic but there are a few clarifications needed with the Babe Ruth fund raiser.<<
1. Have the respective coaches been notified about the MusicCard deal yet? If they have, has there been any feedback that you know of?
Answer..Coaches have nothing to do with the card other than to help collect the money...the cards will be issued at sign-up's and each child will be responsible for selling them, it is a league fundraiser and the time frame for selling is about a week.
2. Are not the Cards pre-bought by the teams before marketed to the public? Answer..In this instance, No...only a ten percent deposit is required. remember, theses are non-profit organizations and they dont have a large amount of start-up capitol. Now, with a ten percent charge, leagues can afford to purchase as many cards as they need at cost that wont strangle them till there sold.(i believe this will generate a much larger use of the card as a fundraiser.)
3. Do the kids take home an allocation of Cards to sell and then are responsible to bring back the money? In other words the kids(parents) own the Cards the kids bring home.
Answer. Absolutly correct...
4. What is the official kick-off date to begin the fund raising?
Answer. Most leagues are Feb-March...(our league will start before the end of january.)
5. Isn't the All Stars in Aug and another major fund raising period for the kids is July-Aug? At that time they could out produce Jan-Feb?
Answer. All Stars starts mostly in may-june and continues through aug....they will out sell any other facit of this as they need serious cash for travel, fee's, uniforms,Ect.( we fundraise every weekend during all stars and dont forget there are all stars in every age group from 8-18, thats and average of 165 sales kids peddeling each weekend per league)
6. During the gap time between the two major fund raising events the Card is continuously pushed at the games and other minor team funding necessities.
Answer. Yes, consessionstands will sell along with sponser's, such as 7-11, wawa, Ect.
7. I have placed, I feel, a conservative goal of 2.5 million cards with 5-6 CD purchases each(average) for 1999. That would indicate income to CCI of approx 25 million. How do you feel about that?
Answer. My prediction is for the first year is 4 million cards, this includes all stars and fall ball..it is low, if you can call 40 million gross low,but is a new thing and will have to catch on. IMO, its an easy sale because the leagues get the reloads forever.
8. Confirm the contract with Babe Ruth is a multi-year deal.
Answer. Babe Ruth loves us, well be with them forever...
9. I am assuming the fund raising is a very serious endevor and the coaches place severe attention to it. This is the primary funding for all the team's expenses.
Answer. Answered above.(fundraising is REAL SERIOUS)
10. As far as you can tell, the other items in the fund raising arsenal have been beat to death and the MusicCard will be the breath of fresh air, so to speak, needed to liven up the efforts.
Answer. Im sick of eating candy bars..arent you?...besides, we need the kids to be in shape....
