Mile,

I knew you were being sarcastic but Don Green is being serious.

I have a theory about people who spent either their formative years or some of their early adulthood during the depression. They just have great difficulty ever looking at anything positive and believing it could be true.

I don't know Abelson's age, but Biggs was definately aware of the depression from first hand experience. Ableson was probably there too. I, on the other hand, missed that wrenching experience and had to grow up with the optimism of the 50's.
