at the end of the day, profitablity is the only important yardstick. and i dont think they are going to have much of it for any significant amount of time.

This is what I have been saying for the last 4 months, I am glad that someone else can see this also. Seems that the DR. is good at making feel good statements even if they are his own opinion. The ADSL hype is over. Any short run up on this stock will quickly be taken back down until Westell can show a solid profit, like a company with some substence, not a false floor.
Again my opinion is that they should sell off their ADSL business and focus on their core business, the only real profitable part of the company. Again, the BA rollout was stated in the last CC by MZ that it WAS NOT going to be a profitable deal until very large volume and very high intergration was present. I feel that this can only be done by a very large company. In the end this modem business is very cut throat. I saw an ad selling 56K modems as low as $25 from a no name brand supplier. These 56K modems are only one year old and the price is already down to $25. The ADSL market is going to go the same way. You will see the ZOOM's, BOCA's, Best's and other off shore makers drive the ADSL modem's under $100 for the CPE side within a year. How can any US modem maker compete with that?
All in my own opinion.
