Then they shouldn't be giving out order tracking numbers to customers when they buy
something. Or at least make it a little more obscured than a few easy mathematical

As you know, I was being sarcastic. Amazon seems to imply everything they do is such high tech that it is a trade secret. I can understand them wishing to keep their database secret and possibly some of the site programming. I can understand that their methid of storing inventory may be a secret although I seriously believe it was stolen from Walmart. Placing books, CDs and Video in boxes, taping them shut and attaching a mailing label is not high tech in my opinion.
