TSO:
OR is there a better way to dispose of excess capital in a rising market
Well, if perenniel pessimist Barton Biggs is to be believed, all we have to do to accomplish that is to stay invested. He again sees an overbought, bubblelike market. So, apparently, does the Japanese minister of (I think) finance who is warning of a 'bubble' in the U.S. markets. Strange, isn't it, that a Japanese government minister of whatever can a spot a bubble across the Pacific but can't seem to address the problems right under his own nose! Damned nerve, I say!
Of all things 'crude'...got'em all--drillers, producers, onshore, offshore, domestic, foreign and they're all bargoons! And yes, the producers ought naturally to recover before the service types as soon as the price of crude recovers. I heard a talking head (commodity guru) on CNBC scoff at the idea that colder temperatures would have any real impact on oil prices...of course, when the price was collapsing, one of the reasons cited (apart from SEA, of course) was the unseasonably warm weather and lack of snow in the traditional snowbelt regions...ah, well, one day...one day...
