NEWS RELEASE:

Anzex Accepts the Resignation of Mr. Donovan Hoult

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--The Board of Directors of Anzex
Resources Ltd. reports that it has accepted the resignation of Mr.
Donovan Hoult as a director of the Company. Additionally Mr.
Hoult will not vote the shares over which he has voting power at
any shareholders meeting for a period of two years.

Now that the uncertainties pertaining to management of the Company
are resolved the Board and management will devote their full
energies toward the business of the Company. The focus of the
Company will continue to be the ongoing exploration of its
Longwoods platinum/palladium project in New Zealand.

Surface geochemical sampling is continuing on the Longwoods
property, particularly in an area South of that drilled
previously, where the aeromagnetic survey indicates the
probability of a large zone of favorable strata. The object of
the surface geochemistry is to establish optimum targets for
diamond drilling.

Assay results from DDH 4 will be reported as soon as they are
available.

The Annual General Meeting of the Company has been scheduled for
March 31, 1999.
