Interesting article in WSJ interactive edition by Don Clark: "Computer experts have discovered a potentially serious security hole that makes it easy to booby-trap Web sites to steal or destroy data of unsuspecting users." Apparently Microsoft's Excel spreadsheet software has a problem that allows a hacker to deliver defective code to a user's computer when visiting a web site. The hacker's code could secretly erase data without one knowing it. "The hole requires the user's machine to have Excel, but the program doesn't have to be running." There are an awful lot of Excel spreadsheets out there. Apparently Microsoft has a software patch for the problem, but could EMBASSY play a role here? Regards, Ron
