Does this raise questions with anyone but me? Their current backbone capacity is only 50 Mbits/sec?
5 million users? What model are they possibly using for simultaneous broadband access? Let's say a mere 1% of those are accessing "broadband content" simultaneously. That gives a whopping 100 kbits/sec/user, and that's an awfully conservative pull rate off a 5 million subscriber network. What's wrong with this picture? Won't be streaming any multi-megabit content on a basic connection (or maybe that's the plan--make the money on premium/on-demand multicast content channels with guaranteed bandwidth, and the unicast connections are secondary 'get what you get' basic services.
