Thank you very much for a great post. It allows all of us who weren't able to see the interview insight into it.

I wasn't all that impressed with it. He kept dodging key questions on the valuation of the company and barriers to entry with a canned response "We have to focus on the business and customer service etc...".

I must have seen the very same response 3 otr 4 times throughout the interview.

Not only that, but there was some rumors on the message boards to the effect that the manufacturers were carrying the inventory risk and we found out that this is not the case. UBID is predominantly carrying the inventory risk.

Another red flag was his response to the operating margins question. He indicated that he hopes to have a sold business in the future and acheive the type of margins his competitors are getting - 6%. That leads me to believe that they are not even there currently.

Overall I do not think he did very well, he continually dodged key questions and judging from his answers I must say UBIDs prospects look bleak.
