That's how the company chooses to describe itself. They purchased, installed and maintain their own network of cable hardware. As far as financing goes it will likely get worse as they are constantly required to upgrade their equipment to keep their network viable vs. wireless competition in their market.

I do agree with you about institutional money coming back into it as well as a possible squeeze. The MM activity is likely representative of an independent purchaser than fund purchasing.

As for the company I doubt even senior management expects to be an independent corporation in 5 years. They will likely be bought by either GTE or Bell South. Lets hope it's Bell -as in AT&T. ;)
