Jules, I was beginning to wonder who had all the other shares!!! You should know that I am no telecom expert. OMPT was a broker tip. I do think that the shorts have been much of the volume. I've heard 2 comments on CNBC BEFORE the financing arrangements that OMPT is overvalued still and that was at $8+. As I posted, the financing was a must for OMPT to move forward. Siemens is a BIGGGGGGGG plus. I would always rather see a company have a chance to have its own legs. Although the debt is enormous and profits seem to be a dream, they are #4 in wireless. It seems that huge upfront expenditures would be common in this biz. Only the user count would offset. After the GSM markets are more widely open, IMO it is likely that the margins would stay up on the international sector.

However....I did use the takeover/buy out speculation as an extra reason to buy in. I never buy an issue only for this reason. It does make sense that their infrastructure is valuable to an aggressive marketer. Users will offset the debt if the base of coverage can be enlarged and the marketing increased. I've seen comments that 4th Q could be slightly better than expected but without any hard info to back it up.

I am involved in a penny stock that is a major play for me. Great management/concept and a powerful alliance with Siemens and WorldCom and S&P Comstock. I have followed WorldCom for years. They are the type company that is marketing oriented. They might be a good guess as they increase their WW visibility. GSM tech might be enticing. Ive seen SBC speculation. BellSouth might be a good geographic fit to their US coverage. Dunno...

Nice to hear another voice in the wilderness. If the institutions get on this, we could see some upside IMO. Other wise we wait for the news. It would not surprise me to see another slow bleed to the 8's, but I think the financing and the confidence that Siemens must have in OMPT for $200mil points up. ALL JMO.
