Wednesday, 6 January 1999 13:23 (GMT) (UPI Spotlight) Historian: Jefferson test overstated WASHINGTON, Jan. 6 (UPI) - A historian who helped work on the study suggesting Thomas Jefferson may have fathered a child by one of his slaves says the test results may have been overstated. Herb Barger says he will tell a Washington news conference (Wednesday) the DNA test results indicate Eston Hemings Jefferson could have been fathered by any one of a number of Jefferson relatives.
