Regarding your question about Acuson's new systems. I have seen and used both the Sequoia and Aspen. Both are superb. The colorflow imaging (ability to image bloodflow) with Sequoia is breathtaking. General imaging capability is very impressive.
Sequoia is, in my opinion, the best ultrasound imaging system on the market, at this time. I would kill (almost) to have one (or more!)in my department. Their nearest competitor is ATL (ATLI), who, until Sequoia, had an advantage, at least in colorflow imaging.
The ultimate success of the product, and the company's will depend on more than the technology. Several years ago, technology alone would drive the market. However, things have changed dramatically. The purchasing environment in medicine today is very difficult and brutally competitive. The engineers have done a wonderful job. Now the ball is in the court of marketing. I think that management is up to the task.
I do not know if this information will be of any interest or use to you as your message is rather old and this thread does not appear to be active at this time.
Disclaimer: I own shares of Acuson (and a few of ATL) and thus have a vested interest in price appreciation. |
