Individual Investor Online Reports a 34% Increase in Traffic
NEW YORK, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Individual Investor Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: INDI - news) today announced that total paid advertising impressions on Individual Investor Online (http://www.iionline.com) increased 34 percent to more than 4.1 million between November and December of 1998 as measured by DoubleClick. These impressions do not include traffic on Insider Trader.com, recently acquired by INDI.
''This increase is particularly impressive considering we just recently announced the redesign of our site,'' said Jonathan L. Steinberg, INDI's chairman and chief executive officer. ''As investors discover the site and explore our new features, we hope that traffic will continue to increase.''
In addition to the increase in ad impressions, IIOnline broke pageview records on three consecutive days during the last week of 1998 due primarily to a breaking news story from Steve Taub, editor of IIOnline. Taub was the first to report on Biker's Dream, Inc.'s plans to begin selling its products through the Internet. Following the story, traffic on IIOnline surged and Biker's Dream saw its stock rise nearly 160 percent.
''The additional services and enhancements to the site have not only added to the amount of information available at IIOnline, but have also made the site extremely user-friendly,'' said Michael G. Valentin, general manager of IIOnline. ''Combine that with our well-respected team of analysts and reporters and we offer very useful tools for investors.''
Individual Investor Group also recently renewed its partnership with Datek Online, one of its top advertisers and a member of IIOnline's ''Trading Room,'' which allows visitors to directly link to a variety of online trading sites. INDI also announced that it has signed an advertising deal with another online brokerage, Ameritrade.
Located at iionline.com, Individual Investor Online, which merges in-house, professional stock analysis with news and commentary, consistently delivers the highest quality investing and financial information to its users. Individual Investor Online is published by Individual Investor Group, Inc.
