In terms of weighing which technology has more of potential (or "hype" as preferred by Buster O' Hype) for dominating the future road to internet, voice, multimedia, video and other want to have in my home couch thingies, one can arrive at a reasonable conclusion(based on technical aspects, pro/con of the implementation and economics, etc.) For further in depth primers, search the heck out of techweb site on xDSL and cable modem. (Mine? I am betting on ADSL, but I also believe that cable modem will occupy a lane or so as well)
Anyway, the idea here is to make some money, not to argue on the merits or indulge in philosophy and I agree that the momentum behind ZE has been very appealing to say the least. But as I commented in earlier post, it may not reach the level that has been achieved and maintained by AMTX.
