(TYR-ME, ASE) NEWS RELEASE JANUARY 5th, 1999 TROYMIN STAKES CLAIMS IN ALASKA POGO GOLD PLAY Troymin Resources Ltd (TYR-ME, ASE) is pleased to announce the acquisition of five blocks of mining claims and prospecting sites (35,200 acres) in the Goodpaster mining district of east central Alaska. This new project is located approximately 100 miles southeast of Fairbanks in close proximity to the Teck-Sumitomo POGO gold discovery where the latest reports indicate a geological resource of 10 million tons grading 0.52 ounces gold per ton for a total contained gold resource of 5.2 million ounces. The POGO discovery is part of Sumitomo's large Stone Boy exploration project which includes zinc and lead prospects as well as gold. Troymin's new prospect will complement its current activities at Prospector Mountain in the Yukon portion of the Tintina Gold Belt. Geophysical, geochemical and geological surveys completed to date at Prospector Mountain have identified several targets which have the potential for both high grade epithermal gold and silver veins as well as porphry copper gold deposits.
