I want him out. I really do. I wouldn't say at all costs, though. I am equally concerned about defending him at all costs. I've got a feeling we are talking about two different currencies here. On the one hand I don't think it matters to the repubs if the process bankrupts the democratic party platform. It also seems that the dems are taking advantage of the opportunity to stereotype the repubs as intolerant tight butts. If we can look past the just politics rhetoric, I'm still hoping there is life on the other side of this thing.

I'm starting to see dooms day extremests getting their day in the sun. The Colorado cult that just got busted in Jeruselum is foretelling the destruction of the USA in y2k. Flight out of America is also on the the lips of the culturally mobile. You can take just about any point of view expressed on this thread and reword it as an attack on the other side. There seems to be a general lack of confidence in the the stature of our leadership everywhere you look. These are some of the costs I'm seeing.

I wonder what kind of list we would get if everybody generated a list of losses attributed to this schism?
