In the earnings conference call for DSC Communications earlier today DCS's CEO talked about their AirSpan product, which is CDMA WLL (Wireless Local Loop). He said he considered Airspan to be in the beginning phase of "a considerable amount of business." He says it is working "extremely well", surpassing their initial expectations. He said that the product is now being deployed in China by Motorola and that other opportunities exist all over the world. He also said that Airspan installations take longer than other systems because they require frequency allocations, more testing, so AirSpan contracts take longer to complete.
