I will respond happily about my Internet usage.

I was a charter member for Prodigy (back when it was a two market test)....and have used compuserve, genie, and delphi.

Then began using AOL in 1994. Stopped using AOL when I discovered the regular browsers and did not like paying by the "hour"...I was racking up a serious AOL bill. and IRC was fine for chatting...search engines good for finding content.

AOL ditched the "by the hour pricing" and then allows one to use an ISP to connect...and then only pay $9.95/month....so I signed back on...for a quick read on news...and some of my clients only use AOL so it is convenient for them to email me there...(they are newbies to the max!...I am thankful...they have finally figured out how to email)

Well...I use @Home cable modem (networked within my home via wingate proxy...so it is cheap cheap cheap...(just $34 for 4 systems blazing fast vs 4 phone lines and 4 ISP service charges for 56K modem)

Browserwise....I started with Mosiac...(remember when) the gophers, ftp, then Netscape....switched to Internet Explorer finally (at ver 4.0).

Invesment wise: I am 25% MSFT, 23% AOL/NSCP, 10% DELL, then have 12 other stocks...smallest investment is $12K invested. I bought my first AOL stock in 1994...not a lot...but now....have a good bit...(am adding to my holdings by purchasing NSCP at a discount to AOL's price...)

Little techie that I am....saw the beauty of Windows in 1992 and bought a round lot MSFT....and basically bought another 100 shares whenever I had extra money... that blossomed into 3000 shares...(split with hubby...so have half..now).....

Now I am a bit more diversified.....hope this answers your questions... Mary
