Same experience here. I tried AOL back in 1996 and again in 1997 but decided not to go past the 30 day free trial period. I subsequently used AT&T Worldnet and presently am using Pac Bell Internet. Am long AOL for about 6 weeks and am up 80%.

I can use the same analogy for WCOM. I'm in the telecommunications field and used to work for MFS which was bought by WCOM in December 1996. I only lasted 6 months working for WCOM as they didn't pay well and even now perceive their customer service as inferior. However I bought WCOM stock before leaving the company 2 years ago when it was only $24 a share. Today it's up to $78 and it's my core holding. The moral of the story is you don't have to use the stocks you are holding!
