I can speak to the skiing out west. For most of the winter, until the last few weeks, there was little snow. Almost all the snow was man made, and the weather was warm, so it melted alot. I always go to Vail at the same time (last week in November), just after Thanksgiving. It was the worst year I ever had there. Nevertheless, the slopes had people on them and the prices were as high as ever. NONE OF THE BACK BOULS WERE OPEN! The shops had all new gear for rentals. They push marker there as the cadillac for new gear. The rental gear however is almost always solomon.
