Day after day, alone on a hill The man with the foolish grin is keeping perfectly still But nobody wants to know him They can see that he's just a fool
this message from Smart Investor on Dec 30 1998 1:37PM EST Hi folks, Today's selling is just a warm-up. Look for more fire work this afternoon and tomorrow. Nobody wants to have a long position going to Jan. 4!
Well on the way, head in a cloud The man of a thousand voices talking perfectly loud But nobody ever hears him, or the sound he appears to make And he never seems to notice, the fool on the hill
Monday, Nov 9 1998 2:25PM ET EPS growth of only 50% for YHOO does not even justify 1/3 its current stock price !
And nobody seems to like him They can tell what he wants to do

I am repeatedly pointing out absurdity of YHOO's valuation just like you longs repeating the so called potential of YHOO. Therefore, I think we are even. Seriously, even AMZN is probably a better buy than YHOO at the current price. At least, AMZN has a revenue of 153 million last quarter which is 3 TIMES that of YHOO (only 50 million). AMZN at least has a very defined business model, selling books and music,..... What is YHOO ? It is definitely just a story stock. Selling ads ? Come on!

It was overvalued at $100, and insanely overvalued at $200. People thought PressTek was a good buy when it was traded at $200 with nonsense like revolutionizing the printing technologies, blah, blah,... Is that any different than the current YHOO mania with nonsense like revolutionizing how people buying stuff ? It was a bunch of crap then with PressTek, and it is a bunch of crap now with YHOO. People do not change their buying habit very easily. Shopping is kind of like going to the baseball game, it is a favorite pastime for many people. Why people just watch the baseball game at home on big screen TV ? The experience is completely different. The other argument is ads through the Net. For God sake, we have enough advertising on TV, newspaper, and just about everywhere, who the hell want to watch a bunch of ads on one's computer screen ?
He never listens to them, he knows that they're the fool They don't like him, the fool on the hill Sees the sun going down and the eyes in his head See the world spinning round

YHOO is the most absurd stock at this time. What the big deal listing job openings on the web ? People have been doing that for a couple of years already. It is just a bubble, and will burst in a couple of days or weeks. I predict that it will go below 100 by January 1999.

Smart Investor, I looked at the calendar today, and it said January 1999. Then I looked at YHOO, for a moment a dollar short of $300. For the record, since this might appear mean-spirited, I have been agreeing with you every step along the way. That makes me a fool, too, I'm afraid. Today I have decided that I can't agree any longer.
Best of luck to you.
