My opinion, and it's only an opinion.....is that the cultural chasm that exists between the two companies along with the huge price tag makes the merger highly improbable. At 5 billion in market cap (with a conservative 25-35% year over year growth rate) PSOFT will not come cheap. Even with IBM's deep pockets this deal would just be HUGE. This would be up there with one of the largest merger/buyouts EVER in high tech.

Not to say that a merger/acquistion by IBM wouldn't be an intriguing proposition, to say the least. It just doesn't add up for me.
