According to some rather dated forecasts... I estimate about 7-8 million PDA units this year and about 10 million PDA units next year. Over 50% of the market are Palms. I believe this info is too low. 3Com's latest earnings came in higher than expected primarily due to higher sales of Palm devices. We really have no idea how big the battery might be, so we need to be conservative on pricing. I believe Fred was using $6 per unit. But it is likely these units will also be used in the Palm VII, a wireless device with higher power requirements. If so, then we could see pricing per unit more in the line with cellphone batteries. Clearly this is a smaller market than cellphones or laptops, but since the growth rate in this category is 35-40% annually, the market will grow fast. Be interesting to see your spreadsheet projections for this segment. Paul
