Reporting Live from Backstage at Techstock '99 Winterfest....
The techs were fed peanut butter & jelly on whole wheat & pear-orange-strawberry smoothies made from harryanddavid.com's fruit (sold AHC & NOC at a loss to pay for GNET). The intro was a cover of the GNET theme "The Best Is Yet To Come" in a debut performance by Conexant; a
new kid on the block.(see recent unnoticed news release stating that Rockwell Semiconductor is the biggest semiconductor mfg. in the world, not mentioning the ROK 12/31 spinoff of CNXTV semiconductor division. CNXTV is not yet mentioned in established semiconductor sector listings, a majority with higher share prices might I add, as new earnings not reported yet, The CNXTV theme is "Only 16").COMDEX starts it's Las Vegas gig, $6000 thin-monitor flat bigscreens were the opening act, and monitors on the periphery of Techstock '99 provided constant entertainment. Memorable Crowd scenes: MLRE displays a firm bottom while riding on BIKR shoulders...buying frenzy 'round AMZN split...OMKT announced an add of Encyclopedia Brittannica eblast.com to it's client hit release...AOL, Verio, Quest, US West, Echostar, Mindspring, & Rocky Mt. Internet jammed an improv supergroup spectacular (a'la the old Plastic Ono) in protest to the feds/icc of the okayed T/TCI merger with exclusive-of-them policies resulting (news quote "When combined, T/TCI will be the biggest player on the block")... while T stole the stage w/ Jimi's clone deja vu'ing a perfect Hendrix "All Along The Watchtower" complete with the Fender guitar (owned by CBS) campfire... GEEK underwriters worked the crowds, repurchasing 345,000 shares from shareholders, as flowers rained down from helicopters on airmail.net ... AFRI gave a dynamite hip-hop reggae version of "I Fought The Law And The Law Won" a/la Bob Marley in a latest-release duet with a shareowner litigating Chase Manhattan allowing a lawyer-permission sale of a million shares at .60 without the owner's permission; the owner just wants the shares back...At sunset, AOL & ATT closed today's show with a Battle of The Bands - AOL's "It's Only Words" lost out to ATT's "It's My Life, And I Can Say What I Want" - as here come da judge banged down the decision gavel in favor of ATT on whether "You Have Mail" and "IM" among other terms, are generic expressions pertaining to the internet or original proprietary property of AOL. Very few campers on the fairgrounds tonight, as weather is cold and most prefer to watch the overnight Asia and European action from the puterside comfort of their warm homes. This Techstock '99 is dedicated to an often predictable phenomena called "The January Effect" - which in this reporters opinion bottlerocketed off today, with Act 1, Far Out!
Joana, Live From Backstage, gotta go, there's George....
