Could it be that instead of 2002 contracts being bought it was in fact 2002 contracts of covered calls being sold in anticipation of a stock price retreat and an opportunity to repurchase the calls at a reduced price?

Is there any way to determine if the underlying contracts were part of a sale of covered calls?
