SKOKIE, Ill., Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Sabratek Corporation (Nasdaq: SBTK) today announced that it has been awarded an exclusive three year agreement to supply the entire Kaiser Permanente system throughout the United States with its 6060 ambulatory pumps. Kaiser Permanente is one of the largest and most integrated full service health care organizations in the United States serving the healthcare needs of 9.3 million members in 17 states and the District of Columbia. Sabratek was chosen after an extensive set of trials during which Kaiser evaluated many of the available alternatives to meet the needs of those patients requiring an ambulatory infusion pump.
"We are extremely proud to have our ambulatory pumps chosen as the standard for Kaiser Permanente's homecare, clinic based, out-patient and in-patient pain management requirements," said K. Shan Padda, Chief Executive Officer of Sabratek. "Kaiser is one of the outstanding health care organizations in the country and we consider their choice of Sabratek as another vote of confidence for Sabratek's products."
"Kaiser Permanente elected to use Sabratek's infusion technology due to the ease of use and flexibility," said Kathy Wallace, Commodities Manager, Supply Chain Management, of Kaiser Permanente. "Kaiser is committed to providing quality patient care across the entire continuum of care for our patients. To that end, we have chosen to use Sabratek's ambulatory pump both in the hospital and alternate site settings for our patients requiring an ambulatory pump."
