I agree, when you examine the potential acquisition on paper it doesn't appear that a PSFT (at let's say 7-10 BB)could adversely affect an IBM balance sheet. I just feel that 7-10 BB is a HUGE investment to make regardless of the size of the suitor. You also have to believe the price tag could possibly be even higher if (like most companies it's size) PSFT has an assortment of "poison pills" in place. I'm not sure if these types of things are waived off in "friendly" merger or takeover discussions, but is PSFT still an attractive acquisition at 12-15 BB? Maybe, maybe not. I'm still intrigued by the possibility, I just don't foresee a deal like this coming to fruition with all of these factors in play.

It's odd to see everyone's interest suddenly pique over the rumor. I'm happy to see the thread come back to life though.
