IMPORTANT POST

As part of the SFAM-IPEC merger agreement, each company issued options to each other allowing each to purchase 19.9% of each other's stock if the merger agreement should be terminated. The option issued to IPEC would allow it to purchase 19.9% of SFAM stock (3,211k shares) at a price of either $14.875 or at a cost of 1/.71 shares of its own stock. Check out this link:

IMHO the chances of the merger not going through, particularly with the aforementioned option provision are very low. Certainly not justifying an 11.5% discount IPEC is trading at now....
